Life and living: Where do reptiles live? Reptiles can be found all over the world. However, reptiles are prone to live in areas where it is hot and humid areas, and are very rarely found in places that are cold.
Planet earth and beyond: In South Africa, we see an increase in snake appearances months October to March due it being spring and summer season.
Energy and change: Reptiles hibernate during the winter season, and are most active during summer season.
Activity: Present learners with a large image of the Reptile life cycle. Learners must draw every stage of the life cycle on a blank sheet of paper.
Life and living: Reptiles have stages of the life cycle - Parent reptile lays eggs, the egg hatches, juvenile reptile, and into a full adult reptile.
Life and living: What are reptiles? Reptiles are vertebrates, as they have backbones. reptiles bodies are covered in scales and they are cold-blooded. Reptiles reproduce shell eggs which are mostly fertilized internally.

Conservation: Humans take great pride in how we protect animal species, such as reptile sanctuaries. There are places such as Le Bonheur Reptile Adventures - Croc and Reptile Park (2023).

Classification
Diversity and individuality: Reptiles can be divided into 4 main groups, namely: Squamates - lizards, snakes and worms; Turtles - hard shells; Crocodilians - alligators, crocodiles and caimans; Rhyncephalians (Discovery Place, 2021)
Ecosystem
Relationships and interdependence: Reptiles fulfil the role of both predator and prey in the ecosystem (Endangered Species International, 2011).
Activity: Lesson of pray vs predator. Learners have to determined which animals are prey to reptiles and which animals prey on reptiles.
