According to Zug (2023), most reptiles have a continuous eternal covering of epidermal scales. Reptile scales contain a unique type of keratin called bera keratin.
Lewbart (2019:9) stated that semiaquatic reptiles spend most of their time in aquatic habitats but frequently leave the water to bask or travel overland between wetlands.
