Different types of insects

Butterflies: These are known as winged insects. They have bright colors.

Beetles: They make up 40% of all insects in the world. All species of beetle belong to Coleoptera. It is the most fascinating type of insect.

Bees: They pollinate flower and plants. it is the most useful insect to humans.

Activity: This is an outdoor activity. They need to identify and observe the different type of insects. They will need to draw the insect they spot.

The characteristics of insects

Insects smell, feel and sense with one pair of antennae. Antennae are two appendages that stem from the insect head. The antennae serves to help insects understand the complex world around them.

Every insect has a head, thorax and an abdomen. During the adult stage of the life cycle the three part body shape.

All insects have an exoskeleton. The supporting structures of an insect is found on the outside of the body. It is made of chitin. ( Lad. 2023)

Activity: Classify an insect according to their different body parts of them. Their also need to compare the roles different insects play.

Insects is a type of small animal with six legs and a body divided into three parts.

Insects is known as an invertebrate. They lack a backbone. ( Cambridge University Press &Assessment 2023)

Insects are the animals with two pairs of thin wings and a pair of antennae.

Activity: Build an caterpillar or a ladybug with carboard or egg tray.

Activity: Instruct the students to design and build a butterfly house. Using cardboard, a box, tape and plastic wrap.

Many diseases is caused by mosquitoes and bed bugs that bite humans.

Some insects like flies or ants swarm around food waste or garbage. It eats any food scraps you leave lying around.

Activity: You will need to place some flower blossoms in the box, so the butterflies can feed on the nectar. Have students observe their butterflies for a day or two and then set them free.
