Preparation of sodium bicarbonate solutions
Place the watch glass on the scale and press the button Tare.
Weigh on the scale the amount of bicarbonate needed to prepare the corresponding solution: Table 1: 0g.
Table 2: 1g.
Table 3: 1.5 g.
Table 4: 2.0 g.
Table 5: 2.5 g.
Table 6: 3.0 g
Place the sodium bicarbonate in the 250 ml beaker.
Use the graduated cylinder to measure 100 ml of distilled water and pour it into the beaker.
5.Homogenize the solution formed using the glass stirrer.
Steps to deoxygenate spinach discs
Use the hole punch to cut out 10 spinach discs from the center of the leaf, avoiding the ribs.
Withdraw the plunger from the syringe and place the 10 spinach leaf disks inside the syringe.
Place the plunger in the syringe and draw up 5 ml of the sodium bicarbonate solution.
Observe that, since the disks have O2, they float inside the syringe.
Cap the syringe pivot (tip) with your thumb pointing up.
Pull back on the plunger, maintaining a vacuum inside the syringe.
Remove your thumb from the pivot so that the O2 comes out.
Depress the plunger until only the sodium bicarbonate solution remains in the syringe.

Steps to measure the photosynthetic activity
Place the beaker 10 cm away using the metric ruler.
Turn on the lamp and start timing the time.
As the first disk rises to the surface of the solution within the beaker, record the elapsed time in Table 1 in the Raw Data recording section.
Repeat this procedure with the second and third disk.
Discuss what happened in the experimentation with your classmates and share the data obtained to create a data pool.
