The Five challenges to Internet of Things
Emerging economy and development issues
with the amount of microprocessors and the developing countries lowering their costs on these devices soon IoT will be seen greatly in low income households
without an infrastructure in place these devices will be of no use to these users
IoT provides multiple platforms to be interconnected through the worlds different societies
while IoT brings lots of opportunities it adds complex layers that these users are unaware of
a new environment for these devices will make a new layout for policy creators in new economies who will need to create new IoT related blueprints for regulatory concerns
The future in the devices that are interconnected lies in how we manage them and will decide how the future will be shaped
Privacy Issues:
the more devices that are connected to the internet increase the possibility of tracking
These devices collect the users data and analyze it without permission for unknown reasons
The more devices connected to the internet allow tracking agencies and the government to track and watch you
The likeness of the IoT devices makes people trust the devices with personal information without realizing the future problems that are secretly implied
Challenges to IoT Security concerns:
with all the devices that are connected together to the same internet a security policy should be put in place without a thought
without a trust factor in the IoT and without security on the internet our devices can have personal data publicized to the public
If our devices are connected to the Iot without the proper protection cyber attackers can use them as a point of entry for stealing personal information.
Inter-operatability standard issues:
The actual situation is much more complicated on multiple levels of protocols in communication
Creating protocols for these IoT devices will take alot of time and money which will slow down the process of manufacturing deployment
in the best situation for an information exchange should be taking place in between all the connected IoT devices
Legal regulatory and rights issues:
The range of the devices connected together raise a lot of problems and issues regarding security
no existing legal laws address the exposures of these interconnected devices
Right now there are no set laws for the various layers of devices on the IoT
The issues lie in the current liability laws and whether they will extend the arm for devices that are interconnected because these devices have complicated issues when referring to accountability
