Main Problems
Organized Crimes
The city with the highest crime rates in Nigeria is Lagos, which registered 50 thousand crimes in 1 year. The gangs sell weed, often target motorists and ask for "Protection Money", and have fights which often result in deaths.
Lack of Housing
Makako, located in Lagos, has half the population on water and half on land making it the biggest slum city in Nigeria with over 250,000 inhabitants. It's residence live in constant fear of eviction because the government can clear the slum anytime because the people don't pay tax.
Shortage of Schools
Nigeria ranks #1 in the world for most children out of school. With 10.5 million children out of school, this indicates that only two-thirds of Nigerian children are in school
Famine
Scarcity of food and water is arguably the main problem in Nigeria, and 6 of the 17 million food insecure people in Nigeria are children under the age of 5
Poverty
Nigeria has 88.4 million people living in poverty.The city with the largest population of poor people is Sokoto State, with over 87.73% of its residents living in poverty.
Life in Lagos
Food and Water
Access to food can be very difficult for the poor people of Lagos. Some grown men life off £1.38 a day, and their expected to provide for their family. The food they can get doesn't have enough nutritional benefits to keep them healthy or deprive them of hunger, so, many of them turn to drugs and weed. Additional to that 70% of the water people drink in Nigeria is polluted, which can cause life threatening diseases.
Health Care
The healthcare system all over Nigeria is awful mainly because of a lack of education, meaning not many people can become doctors. In Nigeria there are 9,083 patients per doctor and all of nigeria suffers from Malaria, which slowly eats up the country's money.
Power Cuts
40.5 % of the residence in Nigeria don't have access to electricity, meaning they struggle with cooking warm meals, lights, AC/Heaters,etc.
Traffic & Roads
Nigeria's poor road conditions lead to over 40,000 deaths a year and its traffic conjunctions make travelling around the city a very slow inconvenience. Traffic conjunctions also cause vehicles to waste fuel which increases air pollution and carbon dioxide emission.
Informal Jobs
Over 80% of Nigeria's population work informal jobs, meaning they don't pay tax but also don't get pensions, insurance and health insurance. As well as not having a secure source of income, an injury can leave them with no financial means of surviving because their wages are too little to save.

Birth Rate
The birth rate in Nigeria is 5.31 children per woman, and the highest birth rate in Nigeria is 7.3 births per woman in Katsina state. Women in poverty have many children so they can help her earn a living and are used as labor at a very young age. Also, abortion is illegal in Nigeria, meaning a woman can't get rid of her children once she realizes there are too many.

Lagos is the fastest-growing city in the world, with an estimated 10,000 people arriving there weekly in search of jobs. 1.3 million migrants live in Nigeria and the ones searching for jobs ofen pick up informal jobs and end up in mega slums.
Education
Out of over 10 million children who are out of school in Nigeria, 60% of them are girls. That is because their culture encourages them to get married at a young age to expand their family, meaning their education is set aside and the population continues to grow rapidly.

As of 2023, there are 223,804,632 people living in Nigeria, making it rank 6th in world population around the world. Nigeria has a population density of 246 people per km squared and Lagos is the most populated city in Nigeria

Government Pressure
Overpopulation puts a lot of pressure on the government because the government is unable to provide enough food, water, healthcare, housing energy and transportation for its people. As well as their being a very high crime rate
Diseases
Overpopulation helps diseases to spread fast and often helps start them. That's because the healthcare system and living conditions in an overpopulated country aren't good.
Increased Conflicts
Social Conflict can be provoked when too many people demand too much of each other. Rapid population growth can increase conflicts connected to natural resources because it is impossible for the earth's resources to meet the demand of such an enormous number of people.
