1576 the first playhouse called „The Theatre“ was built
„The Globe“ opened in 1599
Officials who ruled about London didn‘t Like those theatres
They then built them outside of London so that they the officials had no control about them
Plays were always performed in daylight - there’s were not lights they could use

Not only for rich people - also the middle class could go there - the pit (penny stinkers-groundlings)
Gentlemen of various degressivere could sit in the gallery (2-3 pennys)
The members of the nobility sat in the seats at the side of the stage - shilling rooms
They all enjoyed the play without misbehaving
The companies
Each companies was named after an aristocrat or a royal patron
„The lord Chamberlains Men“ - „The King`s Men“
Consisted of 8-10 sharers (performers and writers who shared their profit)
A companies played 6 days a week - a new story everyday
The actors
Not a respectable job
People thought thei would always act and lie because they do it for living
Women were not allowed - little boys got their role
