MATTER - Coggle Diagram
MATTER
Composed of atoms, the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist
-
-
Electrons
Negative charge, very small mass compared to protons and neutrons. Responsible for chemical properties.
-
Can be classified in:
-
Mixtures
Homogeneous
Combination of two or more substances, in which its components cannot be distinguished with normal sight.
Heterogeneous
Combination of two or more substances, where each one can be distinguished at sight.
Can go through:
Chemical changes
The internal structure of matter changes and new characteristics are acquired that they did not have before. One or more substances (reactants) are transformed into one or more substances (the products).
Physical changes
Where the structure of matter is not modified. The same properties or characteristics (the identity of the substance) continue to be preserved, even if the form is changed.
Material substance that constitutes the observable universe and, together with energy, forms the basis of all objective phenomena.
