Each learner will dress up as a certian insect, and we will divide the class in to different groups and the learners will stand the group that consists of their insects characteristics
The learners will create their own ant tunnels in the sand of the playground( and pretend they are ants or worms)

The learners will paint all insects that can swim, in blue.

Activity :
We will catch a few insects ( Butterfly, bee, beetles, ladybugs, ants) and we will look at each insect and talk about their body parts and why they are good for nature. And then each learner will draw their own insect.
We will have different insect toys and 2 boxes, where the learners will divide the insects in one box, and the other box that is not insects. To see if they understand what insects are.

Why are insects important
Insects contributes to pollination in flowers and plants. Examples are Bees : That give us honey and help spread seeds from plants to plants.
We will look at real honey

The learners will match the type of way which insects transport their pollen and seeds to the type of insect For example Bees get the pollen stuck on their feet and then fly around and sit on each plant/flower

The learners will design a sensory tree, with real leaves and branches to show where we find most insects. They will also draw an example of a few insects to show what insects lives in trees.

Activity:
We will count all the harmful insects and take them out of the non harmful insects and throw them in a jar, as we count them.
We will paint one side of a paper , and create a butterfly as we close the paper. ( Symmetric)
