Action Plan Mind Map - Coggle Diagram
Goal 1
By the end of the current school year, I aim to have 90% of my students in the mathematics classroom reach proficiency by scoring a minimum of 80% on three or more IXL skills per week.
-
-
Allocate time for independent student practice of skills on IXL during class as part of stations rotations (i.e. 15-minutes per day)
Meet with students to review and celebrate progress, discussing strengths and weaknesses, soliciting feedback regarding student preferences and possible support needs
-
Discuss student progress with parents at mid-year conferences, encouraging parents to monitor their child’s progress, and providing resources for at-home usage as needed
Implement a “student accountability buddy” system for peer-to-peer support, encouragement, and learning
-
Review progress monitoring data to identify students who may benefit from extra, one-on-one or small group tutoring or remediation and adjust instructional strategies, providing targeted intervention
Review individual student, small group, and whole class trends in progress to inform changes to educational plans for the summer and next year
Goal 2
Throughout the current school year, I will review IXL student achievement data weekly to inform changes in instructional groupings, provide targeted remedial lessons, and create personalized learning pathways for each student.
Review Data
-
Identify trends, patterns, and areas of strength and weakness among students
Maintain a data journal, logging insights and reflections and
work with the learning specialist to identify strategies for improving whole-group, small-group instruction
Create/Generate shareable progress reports and sharing this data with administrators, parents, and students
-
Establish times for collaboration with the learning specialist to review data and adjust intervention and instruction as needed (i.e. 50-minutes every other Wednesday after school)
-
Hold end-of-year meeting with learning specialist and technology specialist to evaluate cumulative data for individual students as well as the class as a whole, triangulating with other data (i.e. report cards, test scores, etc.)
-
-
-
Engage students in small group, partnered, and one-on-one data review sessions (i.e. 10 minutes each week, alternating type)
Students can identify trends and patterns, share their strategies, and learn from each other
Design and implement a system for importing and tracking IXL and other student progress data (i.e. via Google Sheets)
Use data to redesign small group composition and assignments based on identified needs and learning levels

Goal 3
By the end of the current school year, I will participate in at least three webinars, complete one training program, read ten texts related to educational technology integration, and engage in experiential learning weekly to enhance my knowledge related to IXL and improve instruction.
Sign up for SmartBrief Ed Tech and IXL newsletter emails, follow IXL on Instagram and Facebook
Set up a Google Share Drive for IXL and educational technology related professional learning, provide administrators and related coworkers access to the drive
Keep a record of completed webinars, training programs, experiential learning activities, and reading materials throughout the school year
Review and reflect on your artifacts and experiences, sharing insights with coworkers at the end-of-the-year staff meeting
-
-
Identify and acquire text materials (i.e. books, research papers, online articles, etc.) that discuss IXL or general educational technology integration.
-
Integrate information learned in professional development activities into classroom instruction, observing and noting the effects on student engagement, learning outcomes, and motivation.
Look for local workshops or training sessions organized by educational institutions or ed-tech organizations.
Collaborate with colleagues in the school who also use IXL, sharing best practices, exchanging ideas, and supporting each other in implementing IXL effectively
