Problem - Playgrounds are safe spaces where kids develop crucial physical, social, emotional and imaginative skills that are necessary to grow as people. However, public spaces like these are not designed to accommodate everyone, especially children with special abilities. As a disabled child, visiting a playground comes with feelings of discomfort and inaccessibility. There is a lack of ramps, proper pathways, or equipment modifications can make it difficult for these children to fully participate in play activities. As a result, they decide to not go out to play altogether. However, every child deserves to have equal access to the playground and feel comfortable in public spaces.
