Multi Factorial Assessment
Focuses on the risk factors of falling In hospital that can be treated, improved or managed during the patients hospital stay
Systematically identifies the increasing factors relating to patient falls
This assessment is completed as part of the nursing/medical admission process
Factors are divided into two sections Environmental and Patient related
Environmental Interventions
Consider special observation levels 1-4
Complete bed rails low profiling beds assessment
Ensure call bell is within patient reach
Utilise low profiling beds/ crash mats
Minimise trip and slip hazards
