Interim/Benchmark
Definition: An interim/benchmark assessment is used to help the teacher monitor student progress and predict student performance for the final summative assessment.
STAAR: This is a standardized test that assess the student's understating of the objective based on the TEKS of their grade level.
MAP: This exam is an online assessment that measures the achievements of students in math and reading.
Formative
Definition: A formative assessment is used to monitor students learning. It provides feedback that the teacher can use to see were the students are struggling, and help address the issue.
Two Roses and a Thorn (Self-Reporting Strategy): Students will write in their journal two things they learned from the short video (Danza de los Muertos) and 1 thing that you still have questions about.
Quizz: Student will participate in a short quiz to identify the understanding of the material taught in the lesson.
Summative
Definition: A summative assessment evaluates student comprehension at the end of a unit by comparing the standards or benchmark, to see if the students meet the objective.
Essay: This assessment will evaluate the understanding of the objective taught in the whole unit and their connections to the materials.
Project Presentation: This assessment will allow the students to apply the understanding from hat they learned throughout the unit. It will also allow them to be creative and demonstrate additional understanding of the concept.
