Risk Factors
If a person has a known headache disorder and can identify a trigger avoiding the trigger is the best way to lower the risk of experiencing a headache. However, not all headaches have known triggers.
One known major risk factor for secondary headaches associated with exercise is inadequate respiration and low VO2MAX. The reduced respiration may lead to hypoxia or hypercapnia in the tissues surrounding the brain resulting in headache attribution
