- Article 15 (1): Prohibits discrimination based on religion, race, sex, caste, and place of birth, unless there are valid grounds for discrimination.
- Article 15 (2): Prohibits discrimination by the State and private individuals on the grounds of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth, etc. Ensures access to public facilities.
- Article 15 (3): Allows the State to make special provisions for women and children.
- Article 15 (4): Empowers the State to make special provisions for socially and educationally backward classes.
- Article 15 (5): Empowers the State to make special provisions for socially and educationally backward classes in private and unaided institutions.
- Article 15 (6): Empowers the State to make special provisions for economically weaker sections.
- Article 16 (1): Provides equality of opportunity in matters of public employment.
- Article 16 (2): Prohibits discrimination in public employment based on religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth, residence, descent, etc.
- Article 16 (3): Empowers Parliament to prescribe residence qualifications for certain classes of employment.
- Article 16 (4): Empowers the State to reserve seats in public employment for socially and educationally backward classes.
- Article 16 (5): Allows the State to prescribe religion as a ground of qualification in certain categories of public employment.
- Article 18 (1): Prohibits the State from conferring titles except in the nature of military or academic distinction.
- Article 18 (2): Prohibits Indian citizens from receiving titles from foreign states.
- Article 18 (3): Prohibits foreigners in the service of the Indian State from receiving titles from foreign states without permission.
- Article 19 (1) (a): Guarantees the right to freedom of speech and expression, including freedom of press and access to information.
- Article 19 (1) (b): Guarantees the right to peaceful assembly and holding meetings.
- Article 19 (1) (c): Guarantees the right to form associations, including cultural, political, social, and economic associations.
- Abolishes untouchability in all forms.
- Parliament can provide punishment for the practice of untouchability.
