give more job opportunities and help those living in poor living conditions
put in place laws that effect poverty
focus on living standards
increase minimum wages
urbanisation/ transitioning economy
why do people live i poverty in india?
a short rate of economic development
32.7% of india fall below the poverty line, with 68.7% living on less than $2 a day
A lot of India is rural and the job opportunities are less high paying and they have to live off farm production
many people are subsistence farmers meaning they grow enough crops for there families to survive and not enough to sell to others
labourers in rural areas struggle to find work
what is poverty??
poverty is the state the state of being extremly poor.
not having access to food or housing.
not having a good access to education or health care
lack of basic human needs like safe drinking water and sanitation
