SECURITY
NETWORK
Internet security is all about keeping yourself and your information safe when you're online. It's like locking your doors and windows to protect your home from intruders.
Interruption attacks disrupt or deny network services, such as through Denial of Service (DoS) or Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Security measures like firewalls and intrusion detection systems help mitigate these attacks.
Interception attacks involve unauthorized access to network communications, allowing attackers to eavesdrop on sensitive information. Techniques like Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks and packet sniffing are used. Encryption protocols, VPNs, and secure socket layers protect against interception.
Modification attacks alter network data, leading to manipulation or corruption. Examples include Man-in-the-Middle attacks and DNS spoofing. Digital signatures and integrity checks help detect and prevent modification.
Fabrication attacks involve creating false information or unauthorized access. IP address spoofing and session hijacking are common. Strong authentication mechanisms and access control measures prevent and detect fabrication attacks.
COMPUTER
Computer security is like having a set of locks and security measures to keep your computer safe. It's all about protecting your computer, devices, and the important information stored on them from bad guys who want to access or harm them.
Passwords and Access Control: Just like using a key to lock your room, computer security involves setting up passwords or other ways to control who can use your computer or access specific files. It makes sure that only trusted people can get in.
Antivirus Software: Think of antivirus software as a security guard for your computer. It looks out for dangerous programs, like viruses or malware, and helps get rid of them to keep your computer safe from harm.
Software Updates: Keeping your computer's software up to date is like fixing any holes or weak spots in your house. It's like updating your phone's software to protect against new threats and make sure everything is secure.
Firewalls: A firewall acts like a digital shield around your computer. It blocks any bad stuff from getting in and keeps your computer safe from outside attacks.
INTERNET
Internet security involves protecting the global network of interconnected devices, the internet, from unauthorized access and threats. The internet is a vast infrastructure enabling global communication. Security attacks on the internet can be categorized into four types: interruption, interception, modification, and fabrication.
