Issue types, Create, Create, Create, Chose, how to add a new
Issue type…

-
- Start by selecting Issue Types and creating needed Issue Types if they do not exist already.
- Create an Issue Type Scheme and assign all relevant Issues Types.
:warning: Each Project can have only one Issue Type Scheme where all Issue Types reside for that Project.
- Create new Fields that you need to be part of your new Issue Type.
- Create a Field Configuration. Then check the configuration* and remove unnecessary fields.
:warning: Avoid “Required” fields at this point, you can't predict who else will use this configuration and get stuck with creating issue.
- Create a Field Configuration Scheme and configure that scheme by defining which Issue Types get assigned to each Field Configuration.
- Create a few Screens and add the fields that you created as appropriate to each Screen. Fields come together to form these screens.
:star: Screens can be repeated for different steps or different issues.
- Create a Screen Scheme*. Configure the Screen Scheme and define the basic screens either as the default or as one you built specifically for that basic screen.
- Create an Issue Type Screen Scheme and assign all the Issue Types that will be used in the project.
:pencil2: Also, Workflows are where we assign non-basic, transitional screens. If a screen is being used for a specific purpose other than the basics (create, edit, & view) we assign that screen directly into a Workflow Transition.
:warning: Each Project can have only one Issue Type Screen Scheme where all screen combinations reside for that project.
- Create the Workflows needed for the Project. Assign any unique screens that fit into a movement stage of the Workflow to a Workflow Transition as needed.
- Create the Workflow Scheme for the project and assign all Project Workflows to it.
And now you're ready for the final step
to get assigned all the schemes:
- Workflow;
- Screen;
- Field;
- Issue Type
to build a framework for your project. :checkered_flag:
