Work, Energy & Power
Work Done
Defined by the product of a force (F) acting on an object and the distance (d) moved by the object in the direction of the force.
One Joule = Work done by a force of 1 newton which moves an object through the distance of 1 metre in the direction of the force.
No work is done when:
1) The direction of the appled force and direction of which the object moves is prependicular instead of parallel
2) The force applied on the object does not make the object move
Use vector resolution (Fx or Fy) --> cos / sin respectively to solve for the force applied that is parallel to the distance travelled

Defined as the ratio of useful energy output (energy transferred) to the energy input (energy supplied)
