=Branch of Islam that believes successor to Mohammad should be legacy to act on both spiritual and political authority

: Sh'ia leader and chosen as he was direct bloodline of Mohammad

= Branch of Islam that values a good political and social leader that does not act on spiritual authority
Abu Baker= Sunni leader that was the best fit as a political leader to guide society
Medina
= City where Mohammad found success with reform both social and religious
Mecca
= After Mohammad had success in Medina, he brought his religious and social reform success and shaped Mecca to be the center of Islam
Sufism
Devote, total dedication to Allah, politics was a distraction to religion
Islamic Teachings should be learned from teachers and not just books

= submission to god

= God, only one God
Tawheed
= oneness of God

= wrong worship
Against oneness of God, worshipping idols

= submit to God since it is the proper thing to do to be a good Muslim, ways to fight ego to fully submit

= there is no God by God but Muhammad is his prophet
Salat
= prayer 5 times per day, putting forehead to ground
Zakat
= charity 2.5% of assets to help others
Sawm
= fasting during Ramadan (dusk to dawn)
Hajji
= vow to take pilgrimage to Mecca once someone has means (commitment to do it once in your life)
