Adult life
then he went to live in Dorset with his sister Dorothy, who was to remain his most faithful friend and supporter as well as his secretary.
in 1797 he met the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, their friendship was crucial to the development of Romantic poetry; they spent a lot of time together, writing, talking, listening to an ending each other's poems.
the result of this remarkable friendship was a collection of poems called "Lyrical Ballads", which first appeard in 1798.

he died in 1850 and in the same year "The Prelude" was published posthumously, it is a long poem in blank verse in which Wordsworth describes his juvenile experiences together with the development of his mind. It is considered his masterpiece, together with "Lyrical Ballads", as well as his spiritual biography.
Early life
he was born in 1770 in Cockermouth in the Lake District, an area of supreme natural beauty.
as a child he was allowed to wander freely in the countryside, and its sights, sounds and smells provided the inspiration for his later poetry.
After grammar school, William went to St John's College, Cambrige, where he graduated in 1791.
