Antimicrobials and Antibiotics
Viruses
Disease Prevention
Body Defenses
There is two types of bacteria, one kills a specific bacteria and others cover a wide variety of bacteria.
Anti-microbials can kill most microbes. These can kill viruses bacteria and other microbes on any surface
Specialized plants have been bred to be used for make chemicals to protect humans from pathogens.
The human body uses trillions of microbes. There is more bacteria living on you and in you then you have of cells.
Tea tree oil is a natural anti-bacterial.
Phytochemicals are chemicals in plants that protect them from pathogens and animals. In most cases they are in a to strong concentration for humans. in a weaker concentration can be used for humans.
Antibiotics either stop bacteria cells from replicating or causing the new bacteria cells from having a cell wall and stopping it function.
Some bacteria's have become resistance to antibiotics. this is due to people taking antibiotics for a to short period of time and over use

antiseptic surgery was founded by joseph lister and made surgery free of bacteria
Now we use anti biotics to kill bacteria. there is one problem. They are coming resistant to them meaning they don't work and can lead to people dying
Louis Pasteur discovered bacteria by investigating how alcohol cures. he discovered germ theory.
Bacteria is becoming resistant because people are using too much and stopping before they need to because they feel better.
infectious diseases are caused by bacteria
Viruses can't reproduce in till they have taken over a cell.
Viruses infect a specific cell and then use it to reproduce. it takes over the nucleus and make the cell replicate in a different way
Viruses don't have a cell wall or membrane but do have a protein coat.
Viruses are one type of micro organisms that cause illness.
viruses only infect specific cells and don't have a treatment.

The largest physical barrier presented to a pathogen is the skin. Cuts in the skin can allow easy entry of pathogens into the body
Another way of pathogens getting into the skin is by an insect inserting it. Pathogens also enter through the mouth and nose meaning they don't need to break the skin.
There are two types of barriers, physical and chemical.
In the nose their is hairs and mucus which catch the pathogens which get moved up the nose and out.
Pathogens are microbes that cause infections.
The stomach contains acid which kills pathogens.
Some white blood cells ingest pathogens.
White blood cells make antibodies
