The Abbasid capital at Baghdad was founded in 762, and was the largest city in the world by 814.
The city called the City of Peace was built within circular walls and called ‘the Round City’. It was 2,700 meters (1.6miles) in diameter and had three concentric walls with four main roads which led to various parts of the empire.
