PERFORMANCE
Definition: A performance assessment is a more simple way for a student to show their knowledge by completing a given task throughout a lesson
Reading in class: A student reading in class weather is aloud, in groups, or to themselves is an example of performance assessment.
Open-ended short response: A student participating in responses is an example of performance assessment.
FORMATIVE
Definition: A formative assessment is a technique where you get to see a students feedback towards a lesson you the teacher taught and can be used to change or clarify your instruction more effectively .

SUMMATIVE
Definition: A summative assessment is given to a student at the end of a taught unit, they exist to check students learning of what was taught throughout the unit.
Final Projects: A final project is given at the end of a unit for students to show their knowledge of the unit.
Midterms/Final Exams: These tests are given at the middle of the semester and in the end to check students knowledge of the content that is and was taught for an extended period.
DIAGNOSTIC
Definition: A Diagnostic assessment is another word for pre-assessment which are used to see the knowledge a student has or needs before a lesson is taught.

Definition: A Interim/benchmark assessment is given to students where they show how much they have learned and if they are where they are suppose to be in order to do good in their assessments to come.
