Summative
Defintion: Evaluate students learning at the end of a unit. There overall learning of all the units.
Ex. 1- Post- Assessments: Which happen at the end of the lesson or unit to see students new learn process if they have any.
Ex. 2- Projects: These can be used to assess students process
that they have learned throughout the unit.
Interm/Benchmark
Definition: A comparison of students understanding or performance against a set of uniform standards within the same school year.

Formative
Ex. 1- Concept Maps: These help students represent their understanding on a topic and teachers can look over them to see if student understand the concepts.
Ex. 2- Exit Tickets: These can be on going to check for students understanding at the end of each lesson. These help teachers understand the students concepts of the lesson.
Definition: A planned and ongoing progress used to track evidence of students learning to improve students understanding.
Diagnostice
Defintion: Helps identify students' current knowledge of a subject, their skill sets and capabilities and to clarify misconceptions before teaching takes place.
Ex 1.- Pre- Assessment test: These test help give a teacher an idea on the different areas students are struggling in before teaching a unit.
Ex 2.-Running Records: This is a way to asses students reading level and can be using over and over to show growth in different reading areas.
Performance
Definition: Assessment that requires students to perform a task rather than a regular tests or answering questions.
