Formative
Definition: A formative assessment is a planned, ongoing process used to evaluate what the students know and adjust future lessons based on the results.
Visualize: Read a page of the story not allowing students
to see the illustration. Have each student create a illustration for the page.

Interim/Benchmark
Definition: Interim/Benchmark assessments are evaluations given to students throughout the year. These assessments have predetermined variables that tell the teacher where the students fall compared to other students in their grade level.
STAAR: is the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, which is the state's testing program. This is used to compare the students' test scores to other students' in the state.
Circle Testing: A benchmark test used in Pre-k where the students demonstrate various skills they have learned in class such as behavioral manegmnet, math, and letter recognation.
Summative
Definition: A summative assessment is given at the end of a unit. These assessments are used to evaluate the students learning and aquirred skills.

Oral Test: Students use immediate responses to demonstrate what they have learned out loud to the teacher.
Diagnostic
Definition: A diagnostic assessment is a preassessment that is used to evaluate the students' strengths and weaknesses before a lesson. This tells the teacher what skills she need to focus on while teaching.
Checklists:A checklist is a simple tool that outlines specific assessment criteria. Checklists involve the teacher and the student in the evaluation process.
Entry Slips:Teachers can ask a few questions while students write down their responses on the slips. After the exercise, the teacher retrieves the slips, evaluates the responses
Performance
Definition: During a performance assessment the student is required to directly demonstrate what they know such as open end questions or pojects.
Projects:Projects are commonly used by teachers as performance-based activities. They can include everything from research papers to artistic representations of information learned.
Presentations: Students may choose to add in visual aids or a PowerPoint presentation or Google Slides to help illustrate elements in their speech.
