DESIGN CHARACTERS IN MOHO
GENERAL SETUP
HEAD PIECES
HEAD BASE
Draw the path
: Draw Tool (A) > Check "Auto-weld" (uncheck others)
Adjust curvature of the path
: Curvature (C) > Adjust the Bezier Handles to fit the curves
Alt + Click để Adjust one side of the Bezier handle

Fill in the shape
: Create Shape (U) > Ctrl + A to select all points > In the top menu, select Both (both Fill and Stroke) > Adjust the Fill and Stroke on the left panel > Once finishing, click Create Shape in the top menu
To edit the Fill and Stroke
: Select Shape (Q) > Adjust the parameters
Add points to a path
(Ears and Nose):
Turn off the visibility of the Head layer and click it to see the path
Select Add Point (A) Tool to add points
Draw everything fixed to the Head and not moving
Edit only newly added points
:
For outside ears: Create Shape Tool > Check the "Lasso Mode" in the top menu > Select by area > When that area is selected (Both is checked in the top menu) > Create Shape in the top menu
For nose: Stroke is checked in the top menu only (instead of Both)
DESIGNING AND MASKING EYES
Draw the Eyeballs
:
Create a New Vector
> Draw Shape (S) Tool (Oval) > Change the Fill, Stroke on the left panel > Ctrl C and Ctrl V for the second eyeball (still in Draw Shape Tool)
Draw the Eyelids
:
Create a New Vector
> Turn on the visibility of the Head Layer > Eyedropper (L) Tool > Click on the face to copy the Fill and Stroke > Turn off its visibility > Make the Fill for the eyelids a bit darker
Draw Shape (S) Tool (Oval) > draw and add points and transform (you can draw a shape bigger than actual eyelids > we can use masking later)
Duplicate the Top Eyelids > Transform Layer (M) Tool > Flip
Draw the Pupils
: This must be placed under Eyelids layers
Draw Shape (S) Tool > Uncheck "Auto Stroke" > Change the Fill Color > Draw
Masking the Eyes
: Group with Selection all the layer for the eyes > Double click on the group > Masking tab > Hide all
Double click Eyeballs layer > Masking > Exclude Strokes
MASKING
: By default the last layer will be used as the mask for all above layers => You can change this by right click on the layer > Add to Mask (thêm layer đó vào Mask) or Mask this layer (Mask cái layer đó theo mask được tạo bởi các layer khác_)
EYEBROWS
Curvature Tool
: Ctrl + A to select all the point > Adjust the value on the top menu (You can select each point to adjust individually, too. To do this, you need to switch to Transform Point (T) first)
Create Shape (S)
: Fill and Stroke
Copy another eyebrow
: Ctrl C & V > Transform Points (T) > Flip Horizontally
HAIR
Draw the outer line first, each bump consists of 3 points
Make sure the Path is closed for the Fill to work
PONYTAIL
This should be placed under the Head
DRAWING AND MASKING THE MOUTH
Create a layer named "Opening" for the outer edge of the mouth
Place it right above the Head layer
Draw top teeth using rectangle shape tool
Add points to make the curve
Set Origin of the Top Teeth
=> Duplicate to make the Bottom Teeth and Transform Layer > Flip Vertically
Create the Tongue layer > Bring below the Teeth layers
Group all mouth-related layers
Double click on the group > Masking tab > Hide all
Double click "Opening" layer > Masking tab > Exclude strokes
Adjust the layers if needed
BODY
NECK & SHIRT
NECK
Eyedropper (L): Click on the face to have the skin tone
Draw up until the face
Place the layer below the Head
Draw the Collar
Adjust (Straighten the edge) the neck for it to blend in well with the collar
PELVIS & CAT BELT BUCKLE
FRONT ARM
Hide Edge (H): to hide the stroke in joint part with the Body
Move the Arm to be within the Coat
FRONT LEG
Hide Edge (H): to hide the stroke in joint part with the Body
FRONT ANKLE & FOOT
Turn off "Auto-Fill" and "Auto-Stroke"; Keep "Auto-weld"
