Present Perfect Simple
Structure:
has/have + past participle (column)
Uses:
1-Something that started in the past and has continued until now
2-Something that happened in the past but we dont know or we dont say exactly when
3-something that happed and has a result that affects the present.
4-Actions that had just finished
5-Experiences and achievements
Adverbs of time:Already, ever, for, for a long time, for ages, just, never once, recently since "2007", so far, twice, three times, until now, yet, Etc.
Auxiliary verbs used to ask questions:Have and Has
EXAMPLES
She has worked as a dietician for eight years.
The doctor has given Mum a prescription.
Shelly has broken her ankle, so she isn't coming to yoga classes for a few weeks.
She's just taken an aspirin, so she should feel better
soon
Our local pizza restaurant has won lots of awards for its vegetarian dishes.
Present Perfect Continious:
STRUCTURE
have/has + been + verb + ing
Uses: 1-For actions that happened in the past and are still in progress now or had happened repeatedly until now.
2-For actions that happened repeatedly in the past and had finished recently but that have results affecting the present.
3-To emphasise how long actions have been in progress for.
EXAMEPLES:
We have been avoiding food with additives for years.
He's out of breath because he's been doing aerobics.
I've been training for this race for two months.
Auxiliary verbs: all day/ night/week, for years/a long time/ages, lately, recently, since.
Auxiliary verbs used to ask questions:Have Has
