The water Cycle :red_flag: :star::+1:
What is a water cycle?
it is the continuous movement of water from earth to sky and back to earth. Evaporation and condensation enable the water cycle to take place
Heat energy from the sun allows water to evaporate
Warm air cools as it rises to the sky ,the water vapour condenses to water droplets(clouds)
Water droplets fall from the clouds as rain, snow or hail
rain falls down as fresh water
Snow is made out of snowflakes, water droplets in clouds to freeze to become ice crystals
Hail is frozen rain during summer thunderstorms, temperature is low near clouds, cause rain to freeze
frost
temperature of ground is below freezing point, water vapour freeze to ice crystals
clouds help to reduce the effect of the Sun's direct rays on earth
From water bodies or the gorund
living things also release water vapour into the air
Why is water cycle important?
all living things need water to survive
The only natural water to keep water fresh
Evaporation helps to separate dirt and water on the ground and in the water bodies
Water falls to purify the air by removing impurities
Water=75%of body
Digestive system, water is needed to digest
water is needed for gaseous exchange in respiratory system
Circulatory system is needed in blood to carry oxygen and digested food to all parts of body, carries waste products like co2 and others away from all body parts
In plants
for germination to occur, for photosynthesis, plant transport system need water to transport stuff
There is a limited source of water
Although 75% of earth is water, only 1% is consumable
water is mostly solid in glaciers or icebergs, they can also be collected as groundwater
Ocean, seas, lakes, ponds, rivers, and wells are sources of water
Water also exists in the air as water vapour
Use of water
Water (Liquid)
Liquid is used for drinking, washing, etc.
Steam or Water Vapor (Gas)
steam is used for engines and generating electricity
Ice (Solid)
Ice is used to keep food fresh and lower the temperature of a fever
Pollution of water
when harmful substances mix of water(it is not drinkable)
water bodies may give out fouling smells
some forms can kill animals or plants
when water is polluted, we have less usuable water
polluted water needs to be treated before we can drink it
can be caused by humans littering, oil spills, deforestation, and untreated human waste

How can we conserve water?
seas and oceans have GALLONS of non-drinkable water
is about use of water in order to avoid wastage
Can be used by 3rs, reduce(take shower instead of bath), reuse(use rainwater to wash floors) and recycle(treat waste water to make it usable)
Water rationing is controlled distribution of water to people where there is a shortage of water
