sibling
Stardust
the three witches
They are all three like siblings, and in some ways share the aspects of sibling love.

humans and nature
-
In Snow white and Princess Kaguya they both had nature to show them what is right or to comfort them in their darkest times
the evolution of these films from human like nature to actual nature is incredible. In "The Tales of Princess Kaguya" the animals are more realistic, and less human like.

Happiness and Sadness

What i mean by less complex happiness and sadness is that Snow White it is clear and no internal struggle, but in Stardust there is some internal struggle, but also can tell sometimes if chracters are happy, and in "The Tales of Princess Kaguya the end was unexpected.
good and evil
just like happiness in older films the ideas were more simple and less complex than in modern films.
not as clean cut characters can have good or evil within them and it is up to the characters to decide in more modern films
in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" there was clear evil and Snow White did not have evil in her and was all good whereas in "The Tales of princess Kaguya" she had evil in her and so did her father and mother and everyone. Therefore, giving a more clear image of how people are in real life.

Magic
all films use magic
-
Snow White, Evil Queen, True Loves kiss

Important in fairy and folk tales to incoporate magic it is an aspect that has stayed the same despite different cultures and time periods.
Mistakes In life
Snow White "does not make mistakes" essentially made out to be perfect and good. This could be because of the time era it was in or because of the culture, and how they aimed to be, and even if she does the mistake is resolved and is not look at as a serious offense.
However, in "The Tales of Princess Kaguya" because of the culture and her royalty status her mistakes come back in her life, and eventually she does not get her "happily ever after"
In stardust it is a mix of both of these. Tristan realizes his mistakes soon and fixes them; however, it does impact the people around him more than Snow Whites mistakes did.
