Charles I declared war aganist the Parliament
People died because of starvation other becaus etheir house was destroyed

Charles (I) no longer could no longer rule alone. He needed the Parliament.
Parliament had the most powerful people
New laws had to be passed by the King AND parliament so the king needed the parliament on his side

Charles tries to arrest five MPs. The Common's are really angry

Parliament seizes control of the angry from the King.

The ninteen Proporsitions. The commons go too far. Charle's supporters leave London.

Charles collect tax without parliament's permission because the Parliament tried to punish King Charles for bungling an expedition against Spain (ilegal).

Charles marries the catholic princess, Henrietta Maria

He did to raise moeny and to improve the navy
Ship money: a new tax system without the Parliament.
People started refusing to pay without the king reacelling parliament to aprove the tax
Cause because of the commons refused to pay taxes to the king without the Parliament's permission. Charles wanted to increase the taxes.
In 1635 and 1636 many people pay the taxes but in 1639 most country was against Charles I
