SV-single winner-voters rank candidates in order of preference

STV-Multi-winner electoral system. Voters cats s single vote in the form of a ranked choice ballot

AMS-voters have 2 votes-one that is cast towards a standing candidate in their local constituency and the other from a party list within a wider region made up of multiple constituencies

2 Disadvantages

Favours the larger parties-promotes a 2 party system-prevents challenges from small parties

Easy for voters to understand

Advantages

Voters have great opportunity to express their support for more than one party

The winning candidate can claim an overall majority

Disadvantages

Hybrid between FPTP and Proportionate repersentation

Two thirds of the set are elected using FPTP

Disadvantages-By promoting a 2 dominant party system-Stops minority parties from ever gaining a majority-
'Winner bonus'-The biggest party votes are not proportionate to the amount of seats they gain. 2019 conservatives won 48% o the votes which were then converted into 56% of the seats.

Winning party also gets more support for funding- which once again adds to the cycle of dissapointment and loss for minority parties
