INTERACTION
CELLS CNS
NEURON. -Characteristics; the most specialiced cells in the body. -Structure; soma, axon and dendrite. -Types;(function) sensory, motor and interneurons. (structure) unipolar, bipolar and multipolar.
GLIA CELLS. They are intermixed with neurons.. Provide food, support and protection. Schwann cells contains a lipidic substance (sheath) to transmit information faster.
NERVOUS SYSTEM
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM; -Neves centres(brain and spinal cord. - Protectors; bones, meninges and cerebrospinal fluuid. - Matter; grey and white.
SPINAL CORD. Runs through the spinal canal. -Matter; grey (ependyma) and white. - Nerves; sensory and motor. -Functions; reflex actions and carries sensory and motor information.
BRAIN
BRAIN STEM. -Spinal bulb, protuberance and cerebellum, and midbrain.
ENCEPHALUM
Telencephalum. -Matter; grey and white. -Hemispheres; right and left. -Lobes; frontal, occipital, parietal and temporal.-Areas; somatosensory cortex and somatomotor cortex.
Diencephalum. -Thalamus, hypothalamus and epithalamus.

PROCESS. The sensory receptors receive information(stimuli). Information is transformed into nerve impulse and transmitted to CNS through sensory nerves. CNS produce a response transmitted to the effector organs throgh motor nerves.
SYNAPSE. Is the communication between cells. Transmit information (with electrical current called nerve impulse).
