Modernism: influenced by ideas of Romanticism, Marx & Sigmund Freud (psychoanalytical theories).
Before 1929/30 . modernism (JJ-Dubliners, Conrad - HoD, poetry/drama of Yeats etc.) After 1930 - post modernism - Orwell, Graham Greene etc.

Ulysses
ALL of the story takes place on 1 day=16th June 1904. Explores various events happening in Dublin that day.
Mainly follows actions of Stephen Dedalus & Leopold Bloom. They give opinions on MOLLY Bloom - but reader doesn't hear from M herself until last chapter - hard to form opinion of her. When they finally hear from her, forced to revaluate previous opinion. SoC used a lot.
