Formative
Definition: Continuous process for gathering data on each students performance to provide feedback and use it to adjust instruction if neccesary.
Exit ticket: Students will write down all of the holidays that know that are celebrated in the United States.
KWL chart: students will write down what they already know about celebrations and holidays in the Unites States and why they are celebrated.
Diagnostic
Definition:
Running Record: Students reading level will be evaluated every 4-8 weeks, depending on the students current reading level.
OnTrack: This data is used to identify students weaknesses and strengths in a specific subject area such as reading or math.

Performance
Definition: allow students to demonstrate what they know and are capable of doing through open-ended tasks.
Product: Students will analyze a holiday from their own heritage and compare it to one that they have learned from class. They will choose how they will present their findings to the class.
Debates: Students will have the chance to debate why the holiday or celebration that they created deserves to be part of the United States national holidays.
