Performance Evidence

Knowledge Evidence

Be able to use at least three different app's advanced features and import and export functions.

Solve at least three routine problems using the support resources.

Be able to use the advanced features and functions of apps and its procedures.

Be able to use keyboard shortcuts and features of apps.

Understand how to transfer data between apps.

Must know and be able to use support services/ resources for the apps.

Understand the vendor apps, directions and features.

Vendor

Is a company that develops and sells software.

Software vendors refer to independent organisations that create solutions for the larger market such as Microsoft and DELL.

Example: vendor for Animate, Illustrator and Photoshop applications is adobe.

Adobe applications

Animate (2D animation software).

Illustrator (vector graphics).

Photoshop (photo editing software).

Shortcut keys

Helps to provide an easier and quicker method of navigating and executing commands in computer software.

Transfer of data between apps

The importing and exporting of data and files.

Shared data between apps enhances products and saves time.

Example: Animate, Illustrator and Photoshop to create animations.

Support resources

Issues can occur in both applications and in operating systems.

Where help can be needed: addressing system problems, using troubleshooting results and alert messages.

Where help can be found

Training booklet - a set of instructions to improve the quality of a task, process or job. Used by employees to learn all the tools and information needed for their job.

Manual - a book or pamphlet containing information about a program or piece of hardware.

Online help - help file accessible for software applications or operating systems relating to general operation of the program and troubleshooting.

Technical support

Assistance provided to customers who require help with technical products such as hardware and software.

Provides help about a specific problem rather than training on how to use the product.

File management

The process of organising, storing and manipulating files on a computer system.

Law requires organisations to maintain certain types of records such as taxation and personnel records.

Includes storing files into folders, backing-up files and compressing files to save space called archiving.

Important for companies to maintain up-to-date records as they can influence future decisions and ensure they are complying to legal regulations.

Guidlines

When creating a new file, it is important to not name two different files the same name to ensure consistency and prevent duplication.

Companies can have a file classification system that sorts files by ID numbers or codes, with a unique name for each file.

Document version control

A process that helps ensure that different versions of a document are tracked and controlled.

Helps to prevent changes to a document without the authorisation or knowledge of the owner.

Back ups and archiving data

Back-up

Archiving

Is for recovery from hardware failure or recent data corruption or loss.

Main purpose of a back up is to restore data to a previous point in time.

Is for space management, compliance, risk aversion and long-term retention.

Intended to be used as storage for data that needs to be kept for a long time.

Troubleshooting: to trace and correct faults in a mechanical or electronic system.

Animate vocabulary:

Workspace

Timeline

It is an arrangement of various elements such as panels, bars and windows that you can use to create and manipulate your documents and files.

It organises and controls a document's content over time in layers and frames. Its major components are layers, frames, and the playhead.

Playhead

It indicates the current frame displayed on the Stage in the Timeline.

Keyframes

Is a frame where a new symbol instance appears in the Timeline and can also be a frame that includes ActionScript code to control aspects of the document.

FPS

It stands for frames per second and is used to measure the frame rate, which is the speed at which the animation is played

Frame-by-frame

It is animation changes the contents of the Stage in every frame, that is used for more complex animation in which an image changes in every frame instead of moving across the Stage.

Tweening

It is short for in-betweening and is the process of generating images that go between keyframes.

Classic tweens

They are similar to motion tweens but are more complex, allowing for more specific animation effects that are not possible using span-based tweens.

Motion tweens

Used to set properties for an object in one frame and then again in another frame. Animate will then insert the property values of the frames in between. They are useful for animating continuous motion or the transformation of objects.

Shape tweens

Involves drawing a shape at one specific frame in the Timeline, and then changing that shape or drawing another shape at another specific frame. Animate will then insert the intermediate shapes for the in-between frames to create the animation of one shape morphing into another.

Symbol

Is a graphic, artwork, button, or movie clip that you create in the Animate authoring environment, that can be reused throughout the document or in other documents.

Bitmap

Are graphics that are used to display photographic content, such as images captured with a digital camera. The file is displayed using individual pixels that contain unique colour values. When they are viewed together, the pixels include the photo or image.

Onion-skinning

it is used to compare the previous and next frames and also to adjust the objects in the current frame. When turned off, only one frame of the animation sequence appears on the Stage at a time.

Layers

They organise the artwork in the document, like multiple filmstrips stacked on top of one another. They allow you to draw and edit objects on one layer without affecting objects on other layers.

Examples:

Command+X - cut and copy selected item to clipboard.

Command+C - copy selected item to clipboard.

Command+V - paste the contents of the clipboard into current document or app.
