    - - Stars normally arise from a successful problem child becoming a market leader in a growth market but with investment still being required to maintain the rate f growth and defend a leadership position
      - Initially starts are often only marginally profitable until they establish themselves and reach a more mature market position requiring less continued investment
      - Generally cash neutral
