Socio-Culture
Kenya
Kenya is highly collectivistic, this means that people are highly interdependent on their social and family circles. Individuals often have and feel a sense of responsibility to those around them and are expected to be willing to sacrifice their interests for the group. In Kenya, the "group" is often defined as one's family. In Kenyan culture, family is considered a major factor when it comes to identity, a sense of belonging, and security. Dinner is an important meal as it brings together all family members. Religious services are also a communal experience for families. Religious beliefs are strong for Christian, Muslim and Hindu communities. Kenyan culture is very communal in nature. Kenyans share everything from clothes, food, and even space! At home, personal items are often shared with every member of the family.

United States
The society of the United States is based on Western Culture. The United States is very culturally diverse. Most people in the United States are either immigrant or descendants of immigrants from all around the world. Individuality is highly valued in American Culture. Americans often identify themselves as separate individuals before identifying with their family, a group, or the nation (U.S. Culture, 2020). Americans society is based on that "all men are created equally". Partially due to their sense of equality, Americans tend to be very informal. Americans can also come off as impatient. Socio-culture has driven Americans to also be direct- often feeling like the only way to be heard is to do so.

Similarities
Both Kenya and America accommodates many religions although the biggest population in both countries professes Christian faith. Another similarity is that in both cultures, running of the state and church is separated so that those in charge of the government are not concerned with the running of the church as it was during the Bible times. The two countries are thus secular states with no particular favor given to any religion (Watson, 2020). Freedom of Worship is another similarity between the two. Greeting is an example both cultures share. When meeting people in public, an office or even a road.
Both cultures strive for freedom., family, food and work as well. However, sometimes Kenya takes a less harsh approach at some of these aspects than Americans.
