tolerances are variating dimensions of parts due to the limitations of constructing parts,there are 3 main ones,the first is unilateral where the tolerance varies in one direction only,the second being bilateral tolerance where it can vary in 2 directions and the 3rd being limit tolerance where the limits are mentioned exactly
