DANCING IN THE RENAISSANCE
some fast, some slow
some were very easy to learn and needed just some training (like Allemande)
some other were very hard to dance and needed a lot of practice like ballet
Ballet was invented in Italy
only men and nobility were allowed to do this
they were the only who could afford big ballet events
Ballet was really enjoyed by queen and queens
soon ballet become one of the biggest form of art and there was even a paying audience
an other type of dance was Branle
danced in chained or circle
they wore really heavy clothes that slowed the dance so much
especially for women
they wore long and heavy skirt with hard and heavy skirts
Allemande
one of the most simple ballet
the dance would move back and forward
Pavane
opposite of Branle
was slow, and sometimes dancers would even walk
FOOD IN THE RENAISSANCE
mostly influenced by french people
food must have been delicious to look at and to eat it
soup, broth, pasta, pastries, salad (usually topped with spicies)
all the meals in this time were luxurious and expensive, rich and normal people usually had 6 meals a day
french people invented 70 different type of soups
roasts were very common in that period. It was cooke with oranges, wine and rose, now we usually cook and roast it with potatoes and carrots
salads were served usually with fried eggs and boiled eggs
cheese french was on of people favourite dish in 1500s
RENAISSANCE FASHION
women
same as men but with longer skirts
snood (decorative hat)
contrastive colors ans shapes
men
fancy overcoats, skirts, hat, and long socks
tall heavy and chunky shoes, both for men and women
"high ruff" popular for the young ladies, ruffles worn around the neck
mostly dark and heavy fabrics
RENAISSANCE INVENTION
flush toilets
spectacles
clock
to provide studies, like telescope and microscope
Galileo first invented a pendulum clock the telescope and the microscope
the printing press invented by Gutenberg in 1455
