Inspection of Inspection Ships
of foreign service ships

Decrees
ARTICLE 1.
Required by National and International Laws and Regulations
Subject to Annual Inspection
Panamanian Flagged Ships
ARTICLE 2.
The Ministry of Finance and Treasury contracts the services of Naval Inspections inside and outside the Republic of Panama
ARTICLE 3.
The masters of these vessels are obliged to admit on board the Inspection personnel
ARTICLE 6.
The Consular Directorate of Nave will provide the forms
ARTICLE 5.
Consular Directorate of Ships must bear personnel costs necessary to carry out the inspection
Regulation of Special Visas for Seafarers

ARTICLE 3
The sum of five balboas will be paid (B/.5.00)
ARTICLE 4.
All foreign seafarers hired to embark within the national territory must present their special visa
ARTICLE 2.
To grant a Special Visa for Seafarers, consuls must

All foreign seafarers who enter Panama as such will do so through a Special Visa for Seafarers

No seafarer or crew member may apply for a tourist visa while

ARTICLE 3
Definitions
Existing ship means a ship that is not a new ship
Passenger ship is a ship that carries more than twelve passengers.
Approved means approved by the Administration, or the DGCN according to
is applicable.
DGCN
means General Consular and Ship Directorate of the Republic of Panama.
ARTICLE 1
Purpose
All craft constructed, equipped, maintained, operated and inspected in such a way as to
achieve the highest levels of safety of life and property at sea.

Panamanian-flagged cargo ships, less than 500 GRT in service
ARTICLE 4
Exceptions and Exemptions
Ships not propelled by mechanical means
Yachts that do not engage in commercial activities.
Vessels of less than 100 GRT or less than 24 meters in length.
