The minimum age of marriage in England was raised to 18.
Maternity and Paternity Leave
New mothers are entitled to 52 weeks of statutory maternity leave (39 paid weeks)
Fathers entitled to up to 2 weeks.
The Adoption Act 2002
Unmarried, and gay couples could adopt on the same basis of married couples.

- By 2019, there were under 220,000 marriages, 30,000 less than 2 year prior.
