Example of activities of teaching and learning in the field of technology that students do every day to achieve the ISTE standards of students
Coding and Programming: I would be introduced to coding and programming concepts through interactive platforms and tools and encouraged to create programs, games, or websites using coding languages like Scratch, Python, or HTML. (Gery)
Gamified Learning
Not only were the games incredible, and incredibly engaging programs for teaching my typing skills, they were fun and exciting while using a computer and set the foundation for all other computer knowledge. Learning can and should be fun while using technology for gamified learning in the classroom which can be advantageous to achieve the learning goals. For example, I have been using quizzzz to study for the course of literature. It was very interesting in which I would use the computer to type in the answer and apply the knowledge of computing. While learning software can be a great teaching tool, gamified learning can also be as simple as creating a virtual scavenger hunt by coming up with a list of questions for me to search and find the correct answers for and forming pairs or groups to encourage collaboration and teamwork. Digital Citizenship: I would be engaged in discussions and activities that promote responsible and ethical use of technology. This can include online safety lessons, discussions about appropriate digital behavior, and analyzing case studies related to digital citizenship.
