Dimensions, Tolerance and Assemblies
Dimensioning
-
-
-
extension line - continue or extend from the surface of the object and establish the size of dimension no touching of object line and extend slightly part of dimension line
Tolerance- +- 0.2, define how much dimension is allow to derivate
-
Type of dimension
parallel dimensioning (datum dimensioning) - several dimensions originating from a common reference surface
superimposed running dimensioning - simplifies parallel dimensions in order to reduce space used on a drawing
Chain dimensioning - only be used if the function of the object would not be affected by the accumulation of the tolerances
-

-
Dimensioning of circle, arc and hole- circle (diameter), arc (radius), holes (centerlines)
-
Clearance fit- Maximum shaft diameter is smaller than the minimum hole diameter. difference between the two diameter is the amount of clearance
Interference fit - Minimum shaft diameter is larger than the maximum hole diameter. difference between the two diameters is the amount of interference
Bill of material- a source of information of a list of parts and the corresponding quantities required to create a product
