Learnt about dimensions, tolerances and assemblies
Find the root cause of the problems that our target users have
build a product that meets our user needs.
team require to create the assembly model of the prototype.
Ask specific questions and understand what the target user want
Types of Dimensioning
Superimposed Running dimensioning
Simple parallel dimension in order to reduce the space on drawing
Parallel Dimensioning
Consist of several dimension from a common reference surface
Chain dimensioning
Should only be use if the function of the objects would not be affected by the accumulate tolerances.
Combined dimensioning
Uses for both chain and parallel dimensioning
Dimensioning small features
Arrow head are to be place outside of the extension lines
Dimensioning of multiple features
Dimension multiple same dimension use N x dimensioning
Dimension of radius
Show the radius with canter of the radius location drawing
Dimensioning of circle, arc and hole
Circle is dimension by its diameter
Arc is dimensioned by its radius
Holes are located by their centerlines
Dimension angles
It is mark with a curve dimension line and have a degree symbol
Rule to dimensioning
Avoid dimensioning to hidden line
Dimension should not be duplicate
Dimension line should not overlap each other
The important of tolerance
Bilateral Tolerance: allowed to vary in two directions from the specified dimension. Both directions need not vary by the same amount.
Unilateral Tolerance: allowed to vary in only one direction
Limit Tolerance: the upper and lower limits of the dimension are specified
