Unit 8 Organisms Evolve?
Micro and macroevolution
4 main ideas about evolution
superbugs
skin colors
Microevolution
Macroevolution
small evolutionary changes in a species over a period of time
big evolutionary changes in a species over a period of time
Variation
Inherited traits
offspring compete
survival of the fittest
Variation among species is very important for evolution because if there isn't any variation among species, then the offsspring would be exactly the same
The offspring of organisms compete for resources and if they aren't fit to get them, then they will likely die off.
