The people of the town have no insight or knowledge into the actual life, and psyche of Jasper Jones, but not only do they judge him, they ridicule him, and actually teach their children to not be like him. The text soon outlines how Jasper actually possess heroic, courageous, caring, and honest traits, and how, in part, he is a very admirable character. He even serves as a role model to Charlie Bucktin. This demonstrates how the parents are teaching their children to avoid falling into a path which, through the representation of jasper jones, led to the development of a moral, and admirable character. This could also demonstrate the formation of generational racism, where parents are, whether subconsciously or consciously, teaching their children unhealthy habits which may foster prejudice in the future.
