Definition: the symptoms women experience in the week(s) before their period; physical and emotional effects felt after ovulation
Most common symptoms
sex drive
mood swings
feeling upset, anxious, irritable
tired or having trouble sleeping
bloating
cramping
spotting skin
changes in appetite
reducing the effects
exercise regularly
eat healthily
get enough sleep
reduce stress (yoga, meditation, etc)
painkillers (ibuprofen, paracetamol, etc)
keep note of past symptoms
treatments
hormone pills
cognitive behavioral therapy
dietary supplements

In Bulgaria 20-40% of women experience PMS(P. Chumpalova et al.)
estimated 30% of women can experience moderate to severe PMS. 5-8% being in the UK which is estimated to be around 800,000 women(“About PMS | NAPS – National Association for Premenstrual Syndromes”)
