- - - - The current condition of Indonesian farmers is in a bad state, the number of farmers will keep decreasing and the number of old farmers in Indonesia. According to an article written by Putri, A. M. H. (2023, May 16), in 2023, regenerating farmers is a challenge in Indonesia, it’s really difficult for them to regenerate farmers because of the increasing number of old people in the agricultural sector, It’s stated in the latest data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), there are 38.7 million people working in the agricultural sector, the number of old worker is more than the younger worker, such as BPS data in 2018 shows that only 885,077 farmers are under the age of 25
    - - The role of a farmer is very important in a country, especially a country that might experience a food crisis. With the decreasing number of current farmers and the younger age of current farmers, this can threaten overall food security. The importance of farmers' prosperity and welfare has a major role in the economy of Indonesia. According to an article written by Ratya, M. P. (2017, November 27), Today's younger generation is more attracted to the industrial and service sectors because of the low income, and a lack of knowledge about agriculture, farmers do not want their next generation to become farmers, a lot of people don’t have the knowledge or agribusiness, including in terms of managerial ability, in other words, being a farmers is still less prosperous.
- - - - Food crisis has always been one of the serious problems in Indonesia, which the Indonesian people must prevent from happening, according to an article written by Fitra, S. (2022, September 27). Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) explained that more than 500 heads of households are experiencing hunger. Things will only get worse if this is not quickly handled by a country, this can pose a threat to people's lives in the future and it will destroy the country.

      - What strategies does the Indonesian government have to overcome the problem of small-scale food producers, specifically farmers, in the agricultural productivity sector?

    - - What strategies does the Indonesian government have to overcome the problem of small-scale food producers, specifically farmers, in the agricultural productivity sector?
      - This research question has a goal to find out which strategies are the best for the Indonesian government to conduct for regenerate farmers and increase their prosperity and welfare.
      - How does the UMN student perceive government strategies?
      - This research question has a goal to find out UMN student perception on government strategies on regenerating farmers and their prosperity and welfare and also give them education of how important are farmers in our agricultural sector.
    - - This research will discuss the current condition of farmers in Indonesia, which is the decreasing number of farmers and the increase of old farmers in Indonesia. We will also conduct a survey that targets UMN college students.
- - - - Our research design is to find out UMN college student perception about the strategies of the government on regenerating farmers. We will be conducting qualitative research which involves collecting and analyzing non numerical data to understand opinions. Our qualitative research method is using a survey. The definition of survey is a research technique used to collect data from different kinds of respondents in order to gain information on a variety of topics. From the survey that we’ve conducted, we will use the result from it to describe qualitative data which is defined as data that can be observed and also recorded, qualitative data can be collected through methods of observation or conducting focus groups.     - - Target : 50 UMN college student in multiple majors (25 male and 25 female) Age : 18-21
    - - From conducting this research as a survey, we can gather the survey result to get qualitative data. The research can also increase the UMN students' knowledge about the current condition of agriculture in Indonesia and the government strategies to fix the problem. The research also increased the awareness of UMN students from the decreasing number of farmers throughout Indonesia.

      - Choose which topic are we going to use and discuss in this proposal
      - Determine which SDG target are we going to choose
      - Making the research question for the proposal
      - Start making the proposal from chapter 1 to chapter 3
      - Determine which research method are suitable for our research proposal
      - Start making the survey
      - Share the survey and collect the data from UMN college students
      - Compile and analyze the data from the survey
      - From the survey data, start making the chapter 4 and 5
      - Finalize the proposal
      - Submit the proposal
