Relationships between teachers - problems with older teachers (those who have been teaching at Lincoln for many years) vs. younger teachers
Consequences (so what?)
teachers who have been teaching at ALHS for a long time believe they have seniority and therefore creative a harsh environement for their students
-
-
these teacher receive bad reputations and less students want to take their classes/ causing less demand/empty classes in the beginning of the year
Teachers who have been teaching at ALHS have established their method of teaching for a long long time, which means they are less likely to adapt to changing time
-
Not allowing students to make up work because they believe these who miss class shouldn't be allowed to make uo work because they weren't physically present
-
-
student misses out on learning when they weren't present and is putting in the effort to learn the material they missed
causes (why?)
student needs more time and help with their course work, but doesn't have a relationship with their stricter teachers
studnets turn to teacher then trust and have a relationship with/ which results in certain teachers not liking their coworkers
-
-
students who have a good relationship with their younger/more modern teachers are able to excel in their course work
-
Younger teachers understand that it can take a while for students to learn things, so they allow retakes on exams for their students are actually learning
students rely on being able to retake test to pass a class, but the teacher who doesnt allow that ends up giving you a failing grade
